In my study I am trying to bring attention to some aspects of the so-called alternative pedagogical methods: how they can be interpreted in the horizon of hermeneutics and of their claim of being a universal philosophical system; the issues pertaining to the reasoning that justifies the existence of art raised in Gadamer’s study entitled The Relevance of the Beautiful [1] – and mainly its pedagogical aspects – how these are brought up in the world of a consumer society. Every time art has to redefine its own reason for being and its relationship to tradition, this fact has a great impact on the question of teaching art.
